Position Description

The System Development team at QIAGEN Manchester supports the creation of clinical IVD products using technologies like qPCR, dPCR, and NGS. As a student intern, you’ll work in a lab-based role testing instruments, plastics, software, and chemistry—contributing to both new system development and post-launch lifecycle management.

You’ll also gain valuable exposure to ISO 13485-compliant development and the practical realities of IVD troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities for MSc Internship:

• Perform lab studies following QIAGEN guidelines

• Collaborate on drafting and reviewing study protocols

• Assist in compliance and lab maintenance tasks

• Learn about functional testing of IVD instrumentation and software

Position Requirements for MSc Internship IVD QIAGEN:

• BSc in Life Science

• Enrolled in an MSc program with availability to work 15+ hours/week (flexible)

• Lab skills: dilutions, pipetting, DNA/RNA quantification for MSc Internship

• Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies

• Adaptable and eager to develop professionally

Desirable:

• Experience analyzing log/output files

• Familiarity with lab instrumentation or automation
