Job Title: Microbiology Technician
Location: Salida, CA, United States
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Read plates and tubes to determine the number of organisms in the sample
- Record findings for verification
- Pipette the sample solution according to the analysis process
- Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending
- Collect and incubate plates for the specified time and temperature
- Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing
- Maintain Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Perform necessary housekeeping duties and adhere to safety policies
Your Profile
To qualify for this position, you should have an Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience. A basic knowledge of microbiology, computer skills, and laboratory safety procedures is required. Analytical skills and physical dexterity are essential for this role.
Work Environment
The work environment involves laboratory settings with exposure to chemicals and materials. Physical capabilities such as lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods are required.
Compensation
Salary Range: $20 – $22 per hour
Full-time eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, generous PTO, and optional 401(k) with employer matching contributions.
