Job Description
As a Pharmacovigilance Associate, you will be part of a global drug safety team responsible for processing Individual Case Safety Reports (ICSRs), recognizing Adverse Events (AEs), conducting literature reviews, and ensuring accurate reporting of product quality complaints in accordance with Health Canada, FDA, and ICH guidelines. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to uphold safety standards and regulatory timelines.
Pharmacovigilance Associate Job Opportunity – Key Responsibilities
- Identify and process AE/ADR/ADE/MDI information from source documents.
- Perform ICSR case processing: triage, data entry, MedDRA coding, narrative writing, seriousness assessment, causality, and reportability.
- Reconcile safety reports with stakeholders.
- Conduct literature reviews and identify reportable events.
- Manage and archive pharmacovigilance documentation and email communications.
- Respond to client queries and request clarifications when needed.
- Assist in audit readiness and documentation compliance.
- Act as a liaison for client interactions.
- May require standby/on-call availability.
Pharmacovigilance Associate Job Opportunity – Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related discipline.
- 1–2 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance, Clinical Research, or Medical Information.
- Bilingual (English/French) is strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and global PV regulations (Health Canada, FDA, ICH).
Pharmacovigilance Associate Job Opportunity – Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Pro.
- Familiarity with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and managing multiple priorities.
- An analytical mindset and problem-solving ability.
- Willingness to work flexible 8-hour shifts between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
