Job Summary
The Assistant/Associate Scientist, Sample Management position at Bristol Myers Squibb coordinates the movement and control of routine characterization samples and materials to support the analytical testing laboratories. This role is based at the Dexter site in Seattle, WA, and involves sample receiving, distribution, inventory control, and documentation within the Cell Therapy Analytical Development teams.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining the chain of custody of samples throughout their lifespan
- Staging samples for routine characterization testing
- Tracking samples during analysis
- Receiving incoming samples and facilitating transfers
- Supporting critical reagent qualification
- Performing other assigned tasks
Required Competencies
- Experience with cold chain sample storage and transfer
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in computer software
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently
- Adaptability to changing priorities and managing multiple assignments
Desired Competencies
- Familiarity with Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELNs)
- Knowledge of good laboratory practices
- Experience in inventory management
- Basic understanding of industry methods
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in biological science or related field
- 0-3 years of relevant work experience
