Description
The Research Associate II (RA II) at bioMérieux works in a dynamic environment to support research and development activities focused on molecular and microbiological experiments. The position requires collaboration with team members, adherence to established protocols, and the ability to collect, analyze, verify, and accurately record data.
Essential Duties
- Stock project-specific laboratory supplies
- Coordinate and collaborate with team members
- Work in a Biosafety level 2/2+ environment
- Ensure data integrity and accurate record-keeping
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
- Perform routine and complex laboratory techniques
- Contribute to protocol and process development
- Communicate data and analyses effectively
- Train team members on laboratory practices
- Develop strategies for troubleshooting unexpected results
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline
- Minimum of two years’ laboratory experience
- Experience with real-time PCR, sequence analysis, or microbiology techniques
- Familiarity with Biosafety Level 2 practices
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Solid knowledge of microbiology and molecular biology principles
- Detail-oriented and strong communication skills
- Proficiency in laboratory practices and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable working with human specimens and biosafety level 2/2+ pathogens
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and safely maneuver 40 lbs. and handle small tubes with dexterity. Personal protective equipment is required.
