Job Responsibilities:

Conduct microbiology and chemistry testing on raw materials, finished products, and environmental samples.

Perform pathogen detection, aseptic sample preparation, and interpret bacterial growth.

Communicate test results via electronic or hard copy formats, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Maintain lab accreditation by following quality control protocols, safety procedures, and inventory checks.

Assist in training new lab team members and support rotational lab task scheduling.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, annual team goals, and internal projects.

Perform general lab maintenance duties, including cleaning, dishwashing, and equipment upkeep.
Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of laboratory testing, quality assurance, and aseptic techniques.

Computer proficiency, especially in Excel and laboratory information systems.

Effective communication skills and a high attention to detail.

Must pass a color-blindness test and internal lab competency test.

Comfortable standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:

Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or Biology.

Prior experience in a food testing laboratory is highly desirable.
