Job Description
Artivion is hiring a Microbiology Technician II for a full-time, on-site role based in Kennesaw, GA. This position operates on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday schedule from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. The technician will perform microbiological testing on human tissue, medical device samples, as well as environmental and water monitoring in compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform microbiological testing of tissue specimens and medical devices, including bioburden, sterility, and endotoxin testing.
- Process donor serological samples.
- Conduct environmental monitoring of cleanrooms.
- Monitor water quality in the process and clean steam water systems.
- Read and report results, and perform sub-culturing of microbial samples.
- Perform bacterial identifications of environmental isolates.
- Maintain cleanliness of cleanrooms and lab spaces through scheduled housekeeping duties.
- Complete other assigned functions effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related scientific field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Practical communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- Availability to work the assigned 4-day schedule.
