Description
This technical scientific role is part of the Peptide Therapeutics Team in Biotechnology Discovery Research at Lilly’s Indianapolis facility. The role involves identifying, optimizing, evaluating, and advancing biotherapeutic peptides and conjugates towards clinical development. The position entails leading projects in peptide design, synthesis, and characterization, proposing strategic directions, and collaborating across various departments.
Key Objectives/Deliverables
- Lead research supporting project teams from concept to optimization
- Implement SAR strategies to enhance the pharmaceutical properties of peptides and conjugates
- Address challenges at the intersection of peptide engineering, pharmaceutical development, and biology
- Lead multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate findings and plans
Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. in chemical or biological sciences focusing on peptide chemistry or synthetic organic chemistry
- 0-5 years of experience in biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry or academia
Additional Preferences
- Demonstrated leadership in peptide engineering with a track record in advancing biotherapeutics
- Experience in analytical methods for characterizing peptides, proteins, and conjugates
- Knowledge of macrocyclic peptides and screening technologies
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, organizational, and communication skills
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated salary for this position is in the range of $121,500 to $198,000. Employees are eligible for company bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, retirement, and well-being benefits.
