Job Description:
The Laboratory Technician will operate within a manufacturing laboratory environment, specializing in mammalian cell culture for the production of viral and antibody products. You’ll be responsible for executing production processes, operating specialized equipment, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure safety and product quality. This position offers hands-on experience with bioreactors, fermentors, filtration systems, and sterile production environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform mammalian cell culture and viral antigen production.
- Operate equipment for downstream processing, including tangential flow and sterile filtration.
- Maintain and troubleshoot bioreactors, fermentors, and related support equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation in compliance with GMP standards.
- Follow strict safety protocols for biological and chemical handling.
Qualifications:
- Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: BS in Biological Sciences or related coursework.
- Experience in biological production or aseptic manufacturing is preferred.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with the metric system and proficiency with computers.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift to 50 lbs.
- Potential exposure to chemicals, biohazards, temperature fluctuations, and noise.
- Vaccinations may be required.
Work Schedule:
- Shift: 1st Shift – 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
- Off-shift, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
