Job Description
As a Quality Lab Associate I – Bioburden at Baxter in Marion, NC, you will conduct microbiological analysis on raw materials, solutions, and components in alignment with approved Standard Operating Procedures. You will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance while supporting the company’s mission of saving and sustaining lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Test raw materials, solutions, and components for bioburden, including total plate count and spore analysis.
- Operate laboratory equipment, including laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, and incubators.
- Clean, prepare, and sterilize laboratory equipment and supplies for testing.
- Log samples, enter data into LIMS, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Maintain general housekeeping and apply 6S principles to ensure a safe work environment.
- Mentor Quality Lab Technician (QLT) positions.
- Perform microbiological testing in compliance with FDA, cGMP, GLPs, and USP methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related science.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of laboratory instrumentation and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
- Knowledge of aseptic technique and microbiological testing standards.
- Familiarity with LIMS or equivalent systems and TrackWise.
- Practical communication skills with supervisors and peers.
