Job Description:
As a Quality Lab Associate I โ Micro ID, you will perform microbiological testing, media preparation, and data analysis in compliance with SOPs, FDA regulations, cGMP, and GLPs. Your work will directly support Baxterโs quality initiatives and patient safety mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate lab equipment, including laminar flow hoods, autoclaves, and incubators.
- Read plates, enter test results, and manage data in LIMS.
- Initiate and provide documentation for microbial out-of-limit investigations.
- Conduct monthly safety audits and maintain a clean work environment by applying the 6S principles.
- Conduct growth promotion testing, media sterility verification, and release media in BLAS and LIMS.
- Approve technical paperwork, including Microbial Identification forms, incubator logs, and growth tests.
- Prepare microbiological media, such as TSA and TSB, and perform Thermal Death Time testing.
- Write and revise SOPs, review job-related technical documents, and perform audits.
- Train and mentor Quality Lab Technicians (QLTs); serve as backup to QLA II when needed.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Microbiology, Biology, or related science (Masterโs degree preferred with applied experience).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry.
- Proficiency in laboratory instrumentation and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbiological testing, and GDPs.
- Familiarity with LIMS or equivalent systems and TrackWise.
- Strong documentation, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Able to communicate effectively and mentor peers.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
