Job Description:
Labcorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technician to join its team at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts. In this role, you will perform routine and complex laboratory testing, ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, and support patient care through high-quality diagnostics. This position is part-time (per diem, as needed) and offers exposure to a challenging and rewarding clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine specimen acceptability according to established criteria.
- Perform routine and complex technical laboratory procedures.
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents and controls.
- Accurately report test results to ensure quality patient care.
- Document quality control and preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain laboratory supplies and assist with specimen processing.
- Ensure a safe work environment and comply with PPE standards.
Qualifications:
- Associateโs degree in Chemical/Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent (meeting CLIA & State requirements).
- Previous clinical laboratory testing experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 months of clinical laboratory experience or an MLT degree.
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers; knowledge of LIS is a plus.
- Must pass standardized color vision screening.
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts as needed.
