Job Description
The Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG) is seeking a Lab Technician to join the Genetics and Genomics of Rosaceous Crops group. The selected candidate will be responsible for DNA extraction of microorganisms from plant leaves, designing primers, conducting PCR and qPCR reactions, and performing data analysis within the framework of the project PCI2022-135079-2 “APPLEBIOME.”
Responsibilities:
- Extract the DNA of microorganisms from plant leaves
- Design primers
- Perform PCR and qPCR reactions
- Conduct data analysis
Requirements:
Educational requirements: Professional training cycle in Laboratory Technician; Degree in genetics, biology, biotechnology, or similar.
Skills:
- Sample management and Tracking
- Ability to plan multi-day workflows
- Strong team communication and problem-solving skills
Experience:
- Managing large batches of samples
- Familiarity with grinding leaf samples
- Using commercial DNA extraction kits for plant tissues
Working Conditions:
Contract Duration: 3 months
Hours/week: Full or part-time
