About The Company
Codexis, a biotechnology company based in Redwood City, CA, is looking to hire a Process Development Research Associate I. Codexis is a leading enzyme engineering company leveraging its proprietary CodeEvolver® technology platform to discover, develop, and enhance novel, high-performance enzymes and other classes of proteins. Codexis is currently developing its proprietary ECO Synthesis™ platform to enable the scaled manufacture of RNAi therapeutics through an enzymatic route.
About the Opportunity
The Process Development Research Associate I will join the Process Development group within the TechOps department. The position is an on-site role located at the Redwood City facility full time.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and executing scientific experimentation plans for ECO Synthesis™
- Generating Design of Experiments (DoE) models
- Identifying critical process parameters for improvement
- Presenting data at team and cross-functional level
- Troubleshooting and maintenance of process development instruments
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or relevant scientific field
- Ability to learn quickly, prioritize responsibilities, think critically, and work both independently and within teams
- Experience with documentation, record-keeping, and writing SOPs and reports
Additional Experience
- Hands-on experience with laboratory scale bioreactors, HPLC, TFF, etc.
- General knowledge of biochemistry and protein expression concepts
- Understanding of DoE applications and generating design spaces
- Experience with statistical modeling software such as JMP
Pay Transparency: The anticipated salary range for candidates working in Redwood City is $75,000 to $95,000.
