Job Overview
As a Research Scientist III, Automation โ R&D, you will design, develop, and optimize application-specific protocols for automated liquid handlers and advanced laboratory instrumentation. Your work will directly support research and development, quality control, and customer needs in IDTโs Gene Reading business.
Key Responsibilities

Develop protocols for automated liquid handlers and support oncology R&D projects.

Plan and execute wet lab experiments, data analysis, and interpretation.

Assist in the launch and sustainment of innovative NGS oncology products.

Troubleshoot and validate automated systems for internal and external deployments.

Train internal and external teams on automation protocols.
Required Qualifications

PhD, Masterโs, or Bachelorโs in Life Sciences (Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related).

4+ years of lab experience, including PCR, qPCR, and NGS library prep.

Hands-on expertise with Hamilton STAR, Beckman i7, or similar systems.

Strong experimental design and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills

Proficiency in assay optimization and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with Mac OS command line or coding.

Experience with other robotic liquid handlers.
Compensation
This position offers a salary range of $80,000โ$100,000, with bonus eligibility and opportunities for career advancement.
