About the Role

This position is part of the Assay Development team based in Boulder, CO, reporting to an Assay Development Scientist. The team develops and maintains NGS-based tools for precision medicine, focusing on both chemistry formulations and bioinformatics pipelines.

As an intern, you will contribute to expanding product capabilities and enabling precision medicine worldwide. Youโ€™ll gain exposure to wet-lab work, Illumina NGS, Python, Nextflow, and Docker. This is a temporary role for Summer 2026 (Mayโ€“August).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform experiments from wet-lab through data analysis.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, bioinformaticians, and scientists.
  • Present and review experimental results in scientific forums.

Essential Requirements:

  • Actively pursuing or completed a degree in life sciences, engineering, or related field.
  • 1+ yearsโ€™ experience in programming (Python, R, Bash).
  • 1+ yearsโ€™ molecular biology wet-lab experience.
  • Prior research lab participation (industry or academic).
  • On-site presence in Boulder, CO.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate school background.
  • NGS data analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of cancer or hereditary disease genetics.
  • Familiarity with Git/GitHub.

Compensation:

  • Hourly range: $20โ€“$30, depending on skills and experience.
