The University is seeking a talented and motivated Research Associate to join Professor Daniel Tennant’s research group in the School of Medical Sciences at the University of Birmingham to work on active research projects focusing on human metabolism in health and disease, specifically in the brain and liver.
Role Summary
This role is funded through two externally-awarded research grants to investigate aspects of mammalian metabolism in health and disease. The post holder will work closely with post-doctoral fellows on a day-to-day basis and be involved in various projects within the research group.
Main Duties
- Collect research data using various methods
- Analyze research data and present findings
- Develop or adapt techniques and methods
- Deal with problems that may arise
Education and Experience
- Degree in a relevant subject area(biology, biochemistry) with research experience
- Practical experience in relevant skills and techniques
- Effective communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of equality and diversity principles
Salary Range
£33,002 – £35,608 (with potential progression to £39,906)
