Position Summary

We are seeking an Intern (BS/MS/PhD) to develop and validate a Cas12-focused amplicon sequencing pipeline for multiplex knockout assessment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Cas12 indel-seq assays for multiplex knockout QC in immortalized cell models and organoids.
  • Execute molecular biology assays including amplicon primer design and validation, genomic DNA extraction.
  • Optimize NGS library prep and sequencing methods across various platforms.
  • Work with analysts to quantify edit efficiency, frameshift rates, and haplotypes.
  • Organize data, perform basic analysis and figure generation.
  • Communicate effectively with bioinformatics teams.
  • Present progress in team meetings.
  • Maintain accurate ELN records, adhere to SOPs, and support lab organization and inventory.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Molecular/Cell Biology, Genetics, Bioengineering, or related field.
  • Direct experience with Illumina NGS sequencing. Long read sequencing experience preferred.
  • Hands-on lab experience in molecular biology techniques.
  • Familiarity with mammalian cell culture and sterile technique.
  • Experience with CRISPR analysis tools (CRISPResso2/ampliCan), R/python preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and record keeping; ability to follow SOPs and timelines.

Compensation Overview

The starting hourly compensation forthe Bristol Job is within the range of $29.00 to $43.00/hr
