Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-complexity molecular testing, including Open Array and PCR methodologies, with precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Conduct QC, calibration, proficiency testing, and instrument maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot assays, instrumentation, and workflows.
  • Maintain reagent and consumable inventories to prevent workflow interruptions.
  • Assist in implementing new molecular techniques and automation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, and other regulations.
  • Train junior staff and maintain laboratory documentation.

Qualifications

  • BS in Biology, Medical Technology, Molecular Science, or a related field.
  • NYS License restricted to Molecular Diagnosis (or generalist NYS Medical Technologist/Technician license accepted).
  • ASCP certification (MB or MLT) or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–3 years of clinical molecular laboratory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with PCR-based and Open Array testing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of CLIA, CAP, and molecular diagnostics compliance.
