Job Summary

Randstad is hiring an Associate Scientist to support the development of biomarker assays for preclinical programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with MSD, Luminex, ELISA, AlphaLISA, qPCR, western blot, flow cytometry, cell culture, and RNA/protein extraction. This contract role involves designing assays, performing analyses on rodent, NHP, and human samples, troubleshooting technical challenges, and generating reliable data under minimal supervision.

Associate Scientist Job – Key Responsibilities

  • Support biomarker assay development and measurement for preclinical cardiometabolic programs.
  • Collaborate with biomarker leads to design, optimize, and execute assays that are fit-for-purpose.
  • Perform biomarker measurements across rodent, NHP, and human plasma/tissues.
  • Execute experiments accurately, maintain detailed records, and ensure data integrity.
  • Analyze results, prepare reports, and present data to guide project decisions.
  • Troubleshoot assay challenges and apply commercial or custom assay solutions.
  • Maintain compliance with lab safety standards, quality practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to multiple projects under tight timelines while maintaining high standards of work.

Qualifications & Experience Required for Associate Scientist Job

  • Master’s degree OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate’s degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience.
  • 2 years of experience required
  • Strong technical skills in molecular and cellular biology techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with MSD, Luminex, ELISA, AlphaLISA, cell culture, RNA/protein extraction, qPCR, western blot, and flow cytometry.
  • Ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot assays.
  • Excellent data analysis, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, accountability, and organizational abilities.
