Scientist Job in UK- Role:
As a Biomedical Scientist, you will work as part of a laboratory team performing a variety of scientific and technical tasks to support disease diagnosis and treatment. You will use advanced laboratory instruments, microscopes, and automated systems to ensure accurate and reliable patient results.
Scientist Job in UK- Key Responsibilities:
- Execute specialist laboratory and scientific tests with precision.
- Perform first-line validation and clinical interpretation of laboratory results.
- Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with UKAS ISO15189 standards.
- Conduct quality assurance checks, including internal controls and EQA submissions.
- Train and support junior staff under supervision of senior BMS.
- Prepare and maintain SOPs, CAPAs, IQC logs, and other documentation.
- Identify and raise clinical risk to maintain high standards of patient care.
- Participate in audits and contribute to continuous laboratory improvement.
Minimum Requirements
- BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent accredited by IBMS.
- HCPC registration is mandatory.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Experience in an accredited laboratory setting.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to perform validations and quality control.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technical and clinical validation of results.
- Proficiency in scientific calculations and data interpretation.
- Knowledge of laboratory management systems and automated analytical instruments.
- Motivation, accuracy, and enthusiasm for laboratory diagnostics.
