Biomedical Internship Opportunity- Role:
As an Interventional Oncology R&D Intern, you’ll join the Peripheral Interventions (PI) division at Boston Scientific’s Maple Grove facility. This role focuses on designing and developing breakthrough technologies for minimally invasive cancer therapies, vessel trauma repair, and vascular access solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, contribute to device design, perform in-vitro testing, and help translate clinical feedback into real-world product innovations. Through mentorship, hands-on lab work, and exposure to advanced R&D environments, you’ll gain practical skills that set the foundation for a successful career in the medical device industry.
R&D Internship Opportunities- Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with device design, prototyping, and performance testing.
- Develop and validate new test methods for medical device evaluation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across R&D, manufacturing, and quality.
- Conduct market and clinical research to identify unmet needs and innovation opportunities.
- Present findings and support continuous product improvement initiatives.
Qualifications for Research Opportunity:
Required:
- Pursuing a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science.
- Graduation between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Commitment to a May–August 2025 internship term.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to Maple Grove, MN.
Preferred:
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Experience with medical device design or implantable systems.
- Passion for innovation and hands-on engineering.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $42,120 – $71,552 (commensurate with experience and education).
