Scientist Jobs At Genentech- Role:
As a Purification Development Scientist 1, youโll be part of the Downstream Process Development (DSPD) team supporting Rocheโs innovative biologics pipeline. Youโll execute experiments, optimize purification workflows, and collaborate cross-functionally to develop robust downstream processes for viral vectors, monoclonal antibodies, vaccines, and therapeutic proteins.
Life Science Jobs- Key Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments following defined designs and protocols.
- Support maintenance and calibration of lab equipment and critical raw materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation, close out experiments, and prepare technical reports.
- Collaborate with DSPD, upstream, analytical development, and MS&T teams.
- Assist with troubleshooting, optimization, and scale-up of downstream processes.
- Contribute to the organization, safety, and compliance of the laboratory.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
- 0โ4 years of relevant industry experience in bioprocess or purification development.
- Hands-on experience with chromatography and filtration systems.
- Familiarity with viral vector, vaccine purification, or lipid nanoparticle (LNP) processes preferred.
- Strong understanding of Chromatography, Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), or T-mix operations is a plus.
- Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and contribute in a collaborative team environment.

- Ability to lift 25 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required.
