Position Summary

The company is seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Intern (Graduate Student – PhD preferred) to join our research team. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply advanced knowledge in bioinformatics, computational biology, and data analysis while contributing to high-impact projects that advance Labcorp’s diagnostics and surveillance capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advanced Data Analysis: Analyze microbiome, bacterial, viral, and pathogen genomics or transcriptomics datasets using bioinformatics pipelines.
  • Algorithm Development: Design and optimize algorithms for microbiome and genomic data interpretation.
  • Software Development: Support the development and refinement of internal bioinformatics tools.
  • Collaborative Research: Work with cross-functional teams to integrate bioinformatics insights into ongoing studies.
  • Data Interpretation: Prepare reports and visualizations to communicate results to technical and non-technical teams.

Educational Qualifications & Skills for Bioinformatics Internship

Education: 

Graduate student (MS or PhD preferred) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with high-throughput sequencing (e.g., microbiome, metagenomics, RNA-Seq)

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $35 – $40 per hour
