Educational Requirements for the Biologist Role:
- Bachelorโs and/or Masterโs degree in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or related scientific fields
- Minimum 3+ years of industry or academic experience in relevant laboratory research
Key Responsibilities of the Biologist Role:
- Collaborate with project team leads and senior scientists to design and execute study plans and in vitro experiments
- Prepare, process, and analyze tissue samples (RNA/DNA/protein isolation)
- Perform qRT-PCR, immunoassays, Western blots, and other molecular assays
- Utilize automation for low/medium/high-throughput assay workflows
- Develop and implement assay validation procedures
- Process data using statistical and data visualization software
- Document all experimental findings in electronic lab notebooks
- Conduct lab housekeeping, including inventory and instrument maintenance
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic research environment
- Adapt to changing project needs and timelines
Skills Required for the Biologist Role:
- Strong hands-on experience in cell/molecular biology, biochemistry, or pharmacology
- Technical expertise in immunoassays and Western blotting
- Prior pharmaceutical/industry experience preferred
- Training in in vitro biomarker assay development
- Knowledge of proteomics platforms (Mass Spectrometry, Olink, NULISA, SomaScan)
- Experience with neuroscience-relevant in vitro & in vivo models
- Ability to design and execute experiments across neuroscience indications
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
