Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree required (preferably in microbiology or food science)
- 1โ3 years of experience in agriculture, food safety, microbiology, GAPs, GMPs
- Experience with GLOBAL GAP, PRIMUS, SQF standards preferred
- Valid driverโs license required
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Representative:
- Assist growers and facilities in implementing the Food Safety manuals
- Provide training, follow-ups, and guidance for program compliance
- Execute Driscollโs Internal Food Safety Audit program
- Schedule, conduct, and track audits and corrective actions
- Work with certification bodies to manage third-party audits
- Represent food safety issues within District teams
- Identify new growers and participate in onboarding
- Compile ranch lists and process pesticide use reports
- Implement district-wide training programs with the National Food Safety Training Manager
- Execute sampling programs (micro and residue), track results, and conduct investigations
- Track cooler facilities and obtain third-party audit certificates
- Conduct new site and water source risk assessments
- Lead annual mock recalls for assigned facilities
- Attend grower meetings
- Maintain confidentiality and protect proprietary information
- Follow company policies and represent Driscollโs ethically
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Skills Required for the Food Safety Representative:
- Strong knowledge of agriculture and food safety practices
- Understanding of microbiology, GAPs, GMPs
- Experience with GLOBAL GAP, PRIMUS, SQF
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally
- Leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (Spanish-English) preferred
