Educational Requirements for the Biochemist Role:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Life Science or a related field
- At least 6 months of experience in academic or biotech manufacturing settings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science with 12 months+ biotech manufacturing experience
- Hands-on experience in:

Bacterial culture

Recombinant protein purification and formulation

Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
Key Responsibilities of the Biochemist:
- In this Biochemist role, you have to perform DNA isolation and prepare buffers and reagents
- Conduct transformation, culture, and harvesting of bacterial cells
- Process supernatants, cell pellets, or inclusion bodies for recombinant protein extraction
- Purify recombinant proteins and antibodies using affinity chromatography
- Monitor production using SDS-PAGE across processing stages
- Perform bulk processing such as concentration, dilution, buffer exchange, and endotoxin removal
- And in this Biochemist role, you have to support raw material inventory and plasmid construction management
- Transfer products to QC or other departments as needed
- Maintain batch records and ISO13485:2016-compliant documentation
- Prepare materials and verify documents for tissue or insect culture work orders
- Support bottling of recombinant protein products
- Maintain general lab upkeep
- Perform additional duties or assigned projects
Skills Required for the Biochemist Role:
- This Biochemist Role requires strong understanding of recombinant protein manufacturing methods
- Experience with DNA isolation and bacterial culture
- Familiarity with affinity chromatography and protein purification
