Educational Requirements for the Food Safety Intern Role:
- Required: Undergraduate coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition, Food Safety, or Quality Assurance (other related majors considered)
- Preferred: Serv-Safe Certification
Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Intern Role:
- Assist in analyzing and developing food safety metrics and business processes
- Develop corrective action plans based on audit results and customer complaints
- Review restaurant food safety job aids and HACCP programs for enhancements
- Support cooking validations and food safety verifications
- Monitor restaurant emergency hotline and customer complaints for food safety investigations
- Review restaurant operations training materials for compliance with Brand Food Safety Requirements
- Collaborate on chemical and pest prevention processes and job aids
Skills Required for the Food Safety Intern Role:
- Basic knowledge of FDA Food Code
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
- Ability to multi-task effectively
- Presentation, coaching, and team collaboration skills
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
