Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Molecular Diagnostic Scientist / Molecular Technologist to join the Molecular Diagnostics department. This is a full-time day shift position.
As a Molecular Technologist, you will
- Perform molecular microbiology and molecular pathology laboratory tests
- Interpret complex test results using critical thinking skills
- Document and report test results accurately
- Maintain laboratory instruments, equipment, and tools
- Understand molecular workflows and manage contamination risks
- Communicate clearly with pathologists and physicians
- Demonstrate fiscal responsibility in reagent and consumable usage
- Manage workload efficiently with strong time management skills
Education
Bachelorโs degree in Biology
Certification / Licensure
- ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification
- Eligible for certification
- Must obtain Molecular certification within 1 year
