Program Overview
The BioMarin Summer Internship Program (10โ12 weeks) provides hands-on, meaningful experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry. Interns work alongside scientists on real projects that support drug development. The Bioanalytical Sciences (BAS) department develops and executes analytical assays supporting discovery through late-stage clinical trials. The Assay Strategy & Development (AS&D) group is offering a lab-focused internship contributing directly to translational research.
Job Description / Project
The intern will:
- Work closely with a BAS Scientist on a dedicated research project.
- Gain experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and protein biochemistry.
- Apply techniques such as immunoassays, flow cytometry, qPCR, and mass spectrometry.
- Design, perform, and interpret experiments.
- Present project updates and a final summary at the end of the program.
What You Will Learn in This Life Science Internship
- Conduct bench experiments under Scientist mentorship.
- Apply lab techniques (ELISA/immunoassays, qPCR, flow cytometry, protein analysis, MS).
- Maintain detailed electronic lab notebook records.
