Educational Requirements for the Laboratory Technician Role:

BSc degree in a relevant Life Science discipline
Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:
- At Labcorp, you have to conduct study work according to Study Plans, SOPs, GLP, and regulatory guidelines.
- Record data accurately and perform quality control checks following training.
- Report unexpected results, uncertainties, or difficulties to senior staff.
- Learn and perform routine laboratory skills and techniques.
- Maintain cell stocks, prepare reagents and media, conduct calibration checks, and prepare slides.
- Perform stock checks and order laboratory supplies.
- Assist in the setup of study files and controlled documentation.
- Follow HASAWA and COSHH guidelines to ensure safe working practices.
- Support GLP studies, including Ames Test, In vitro/In vivo Micronucleus Test, Chromosome Aberration Assay, Mouse Lymphoma Assay, COMET Assay, Microbiology & in vitro safety assessment studies for this Laboratory Technician Role.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
- Work effectively with senior Genetic Toxicology personnel.
Skills Required for the Laboratory Technician Role:
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Desirable: previous laboratory experience, aseptic techniques, understanding of GLP
- Ability to work in a rural location with no public transport access
