Educational Requirements for Lab Technician Role:
Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific field such as molecular biology, genetics, or a similar discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex molecular testing following SOPs.
- Prepare specimens using various laboratory instruments.
- Review, record, and release specimen test results.
- Maintain records for compliance with regulatory standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety and procedural guidelines.
- Assist in developing and validating new laboratory methods.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues.
- Cross-train with other teams as needed.
Skills Required for Lab Technician Role:
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work independently.
- Experience with pipette handling.
- Experience with automated liquid handlers (preferred).
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and think critically.
- Availability to work weekend shifts when needed.
