Educational Requirements for the Quality Technician Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related field (preferred)
- Certifications or training related to food safety or quality systems are an advantage
Key Responsibilities of the Quality Technician:
- In this Quality Technician Role, you have to ensure compliance with personal safety, food safety, and quality protocols
- Perform food safety and quality assurance activities during production
- Assist in root cause analysis for customer complaints and out-of-specification products
- Conduct internal shift audits of bakery processes
- Perform sensory analysis on incoming ingredients and finished products
- Verify sanitation effectiveness and allergen control programs
- Support operator training on food safety and quality procedures
- Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Provide food safety and quality data reports
- Apply continuous improvement tools to improve quality and food safety metrics
- Support daily production while maintaining high standards of product quality
- Provide alternate shift coverage as needed
Skills Required for the Quality Technician Role:
- Minimum 2+ years of food safety and quality experience in a production facility
- Strong knowledge of food manufacturing and food safety requirements
- Experience with SQF audit systems
- Ability to operate and maintain manufacturing equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience training production personnel
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required for the Food Science Jobs
- Self-directed, motivated, and adaptable to change
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- Experience in organic food manufacturing is a plus
