Scientist Job Details

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (4×10 schedule)

Position Summary

The Analytical Scientist is responsible for performing physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), finished pharmaceutical products, and animal health products in a GMP/GLP laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical, chemical, and instrumental analyses of APIs and finished dosage forms (tablets, capsules, parenterals, liquids, creams, gels, devices)
  • Prepare standards and samples for analysis
  • Independently operate analytical instrumentation including:
    • HPLC
    • Dissolution apparatus
    • UV/Vis spectroscopy
    • Karl Fischer (coulometric and volumetric)
    • Chromatographic systems
  • Execute method transfer protocols and feasibility studies
  • Perform routine and monthly maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Review laboratory data to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with GMP/GLP requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow compendial methods, client procedures, and internal SOPs
  • Process data, generate reports, and evaluate analytical results
  • Write and support laboratory investigations
  • Train team members on laboratory procedures
  • Communicate with vendors and equipment service providers
  • Lead assigned project or test areas
  • Support laboratory operations across departments as needed (QA, microbiology, chemistry)
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications for Scientist Jobs

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, or related field (Two years of relevant industry experience may substitute for one year of education)
  • 1–2 years of laboratory experience
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
