Educational Requirements for the Lab Technician Role:

  • Associate degree in Biological Sciences or a closely related field
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant laboratory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Key Responsibilities of the Lab Technician:

  • Provide general laboratory support including ordering, receiving, and inventory management
  • Process samples from animal, human, and arthropod sources
  • Perform molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA isolation, PCR, and pathogen sequencing (training provided)
  • Support viral infection analysis and immunology-related research projects
  • Assist lab members with experimental workflows and daily operations
  • Maintain detailed records and ensure laboratory organization and compliance
  • Communicate effectively within a fast-paced, team-based research environment
  • Handle sensitive and confidential data with discretion

Skills Required for the Lab Technician Role:

  • Hands-on experience with wet-lab techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
