Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, preferably Microbiology, or
  • Associate’s Degree plus 4 years of laboratory technician experience.

Key Responsibilities for Microbiologist role:

  • Cultivate, isolate, identify, and report bacterial and viral agents using DNA probes.
  • Conduct serological testing for bacterial and viral agents and accurately report results.
  • Perform quality control on analytical tests, lab equipment, reagents, and media.
  • Ensure safety procedures, proficiency testing, and proper laboratory equipment maintenance.
