Role Summary

Research Assistant I position supporting cutting-edge research in metabolism and immunometabolism, focusing on obesity, aging, and inflammation-related diseases. The role involves molecular biology, cell culture, and in vivo mouse physiology experiments within a collaborative academic lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments
• Conduct mouse metabolic physiology studies, including surgeries
• Maintain mouse colonies (breeding, genotyping)
• Process tissue, blood, and cell samples for protein, RNA, and metabolite analysis
• Analyze, interpret, and report experimental data
• Participate in lab meetings, journal clubs, and scientific discussions

Required Qualifications for Research Job At Harvard 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in biological sciences
• ≥1 year of relevant laboratory experience
• Experience with basic molecular and cellular biology techniques
• Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
