Role Summary
Research Assistant I position supporting cutting-edge research in metabolism and immunometabolism, focusing on obesity, aging, and inflammation-related diseases. The role involves molecular biology, cell culture, and in vivo mouse physiology experiments within a collaborative academic lab environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform molecular and cellular biology experiments
- Conduct mouse metabolic physiology studies, including surgeries
- Maintain mouse colonies (breeding, genotyping)
- Process tissue, blood, and cell samples for protein, RNA, and metabolite analysis
- Analyze, interpret, and report experimental data
- Participate in lab meetings, journal clubs, and scientific discussions
Required Qualifications for Research Job At HarvardÂ
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in biological sciences
- ≥1 year of relevant laboratory experience
- Experience with basic molecular and cellular biology techniques
- Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
