Educational Requirements:

  • University degree in biology, biotechnology, or comparable field
  • Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GMP, quality processes (OOS, deviations, Change Control, CAPAs)

Key Responsibilities for Associate Director role:

  • Lead analytical technology transfer projects across internal and external manufacturing networks
  • Act as Single Point of Contact (SPoC) for CMOs, CTOs, and internal sites
  • Support onboarding of new sites into BioNTech SE’s manufacturing and testing network
  • Conduct analytical investigations and problem-solving during transfers and routine operations
  • Oversee creation and approval of work instructions, validation documents, and supporting documentation
  • Evaluate and implement new analytical technologies to maintain state-of-the-art methods
  • Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement in the laboratory

Skills Required for Associate Director role:

  • Experience leading analytical transfers, method implementation, optimization, troubleshooting, and validation
  • Knowledge in therapeutic protein analytics (antibodies, ADCs), HPLC, bioassays, and ELISAs
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly conscientious, and problem-solving approach
  • Experience managing analytical/QC aspects at external partners (preferred)
  • Familiarity with US, EU, EMA, and FDA regulatory standards
