Reporting to the Food Safety & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring short shelf-life food products meet the highest safety and quality standards.

Educational Requirements for the Food Safety Technician Role:

  • Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline (highly desirable)
  • Training or knowledge in food safety systems such as HACCP or BRC is preferred

Key Responsibilities of the Food Safety Technician Role:

  • Drive continuous improvement in food safety, product quality, and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure compliance with One Harvest’s food safety management system
  • Conduct online verification and validation activities
  • Investigate customer complaints, foreign object findings, and non-conformances
  • Assist with internal and external audits to achieve zero major or critical non-conformances
  • Conduct internal audits of factory processes
  • Coordinate site testing and report out-of-spec results with corrective actions
  • Perform product and process assessments and recommend quality solutions
  • Maintain strong working relationships with site stakeholders
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and quality standards

Skills Required for the Food Safety Technician Role:

  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRC, and food safety regulations
  • Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments (advantageous)
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work rotating shifts in a factory environment
  • High integrity, accountability, and problem-solving ability
