Educational Requirements for the Food Science Jobs:
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Science, Laboratory Studies, or related discipline (highly desirable)
- Equivalent industry laboratory or manufacturing experience will be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine chemical and microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished goods in this Laboratory Technician Role.
- Analyse, report, and escalate test results, non-conformances, and delays
- Support investigations, root cause analysis, and additional testing activities
- Maintain GLP standards, laboratory hygiene, and equipment care
- Contribute to audits, document control, GMP, hygiene programs, and off-site sample management in this Laboratory Technician Role.
- Participate in daily operational meetings and verification activities
- Drive continuous improvement in quality systems, efficiency, and reliability
- Provide training, coaching, and support to strengthen the food safety and quality culture
Skills Required for the Laboratory Technician Role:
- Strong understanding of food safety, GMP, and quality systems
- Experience in microbiological testing and manufacturing environments (UHT experience preferred)
- Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities effectively
- Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced production environment
