Position Summary

This role sits within the Applications Team and supports the development, optimisation, and introduction of new products, processes, and packaging. It is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to build technical expertise in a global FMCG environment.
A Day in the Life in Food Science Job
Reporting to the Applications Group Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting New Product Development (NPD) innovation and renovation projects
- Collecting and managing technical data for raw materials, products, and packaging to meet:
- Food safety
- Sustainability
- Regulatory compliance
- Building knowledge of applicable legislation, including:
- Australian Food Standards
- Safety legislation
- Nestlé internal standards
- Developing technical capability through training and participation in relevant activities
- Learning and applying Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) tools to identify improvement opportunities
- Building strong internal and external stakeholder networks
- Participating in SAP super-user networks and acting as a key contact for import/export communications
- Supporting audits and regulatory compliance activities
- Coordinating inputs and updates for sustainability projects via ServiceNow
- Assisting with team and administrative tasks as required by the Sustainability and Innovation Lead
What Will Make You Successful?
- Strong team player with a passion for quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Comfortable working in cross-functional teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Tertiary qualification in Food Science, or a related discipline
- Recent graduate or up to 1 year of experience in food manufacturing, product development, or packaging development (desirable)
- Working knowledge of Australian Food Regulations (advantageous)
- Ability to commute independently (limited public transport available)
