Position Summary
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern in Neuroimmunology to join the Neuroscience Discovery Team. This role is ideal for students passionate about bench science, CNS disorders, and translational research.
The intern will work primarily in the laboratory under close mentorship, contributing to discovery research that explores neuroimmune pathways and their relevance to biomarker-driven precision medicine.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cell culture (neuronal and glial mono- and co-cultures)
- Conduct biochemical and molecular assays, including:
- Western Blot
- ELISA
- Flow Cytometry
- Analyze and track results using electronic laboratory notebooks
- Prepare and deliver internal scientific presentations
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory documentation following good laboratory practices
Research Focus In Biology Internship
- Investigate mechanistic links between soluble immune molecules and membrane-bound counterparts in the CNS
- Apply molecular and cellular techniques to support discovery research
- Contribute to understanding neuroimmune signaling relevant to CNS therapeutics and biomarkers
Qualifications
Required
- Science major in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience
- Prior hands-on laboratory research experience
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent attention to detail with meticulous record keeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
- Prior coursework or experience in neuroscience
- Cell culture experience
- Self-starter who can work independently while contributing to team goals
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Compensation & Benefits in Biology Internship
- Hourly Pay Range: $26.50 – $59.00 (based on program year, discipline, degree, and experience)
- Eligible benefits include:
