Educational Requirements:
- Associate degree in laboratory science, or biological science, or medical laboratory technology.
- 60 semester hours including required medical laboratory or science courses.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Key Responsibilities for Clinical Laboratory Scientist Role:
- Perform moderate and highly complex laboratory tests and analyses according to SOPs.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Prepare reagents and conduct quality control procedures.
- Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance or lab operations.
- Mentor new laboratory personnel on procedures and protocols.
- Maintain lab inventory and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Document all work accurately under the direction of the Laboratory Medical Director.
- Participate in validation of new laboratory equipment and procedures.
