Educational Requirements for the Regulatory Coordinator Role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related scientific field
- Additional certifications in regulatory affairs or food labeling are an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- As a Regulatory Coordinator, you should be able to manage proofing processes for product recipes and packaging to ensure compliance with local and EU labeling regulations
- Research and interpret food regulatory requirements in response to internal and customer inquiries
- Develop and manage Ingredient Nutrition Releases using R&D-provided information
- Troubleshoot packaging and labeling issues, including customer exception requests in this Regulatory Coordinator Role.
- Prepare correspondence for customers, sales teams, and vendors regarding labeling matters
- Develop, manage, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the proofing area in the Food Science Jobs at Schreiber Foods.
- Monitor regulatory updates in local markets, the EU, and global regions where products are sold
- Coordinate documentation for annual certifications and regulatory claims
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry associations
- Manage legal packaging reviews related to acquisitions
- Maintain compliance with agencies such as SENASICA and COFEPRIS in the Regulatory Coordinator Role.
Skills Required:
- 3–5 years of experience in food labeling, regulatory affairs, or export compliance
- Strong understanding of international food regulations and export requirements
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Experience with Optiva PLM or similar product lifecycle management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks accurately
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- High sense of urgency and adaptability in fast-paced environments
