Educational Requirements for the Computational Biologist Role:
- Formal training in one of the following disciplines: Computational Biology, Biology, or a related technical field
- Master’s degree (MSc) with relevant research experience in computational life sciences
Key Responsibilities:
- In the Computational Biologist Role, you should develop and implement efficient, scalable analysis tools for Pfizer’s omics data platform
- Design and apply innovative machine learning methods to internal and external omics datasets
- Perform end-to-end processing, integration, and analysis of large-scale omics data in the Computational Biology Jobs at Pfizer.
- Focus on single-cell imaging analysis and multimodal data modeling
- Develop and maintain robust analysis pipelines
- Streamline curation and integration of public domain datasets
- Implement novel methods for spatial omics data analysis and visualization
- Translate complex biological data into actionable insights and testable hypotheses across the drug discovery pipeline in this Computational Biologist Role.
Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in Python programming and full-stack software development
- In-depth knowledge of single-cell, NGS, spatial omics, genetics, and proteomics data analysis
- Experience with Python scientific libraries; familiarity with scverse and LaminLabs tools preferred
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch and Lightning (advantageous)
- Proven experience in software engineering, package development, and maintenance
- Ability to handle, integrate, and analyze large, heterogeneous datasets
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative mindset
