Educational Requirements for the Food Technologist Role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline
Key Responsibilities:
- In the Food Technologist Role, you should manage review and approval processes for new and existing ingredients and raw materials
- Maintain accurate product formulations and specifications in the Product Lifecycle & Recipe Management system
- Ensure all product specifications comply with legal and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate change management processes in line with business requirements
- Provide technical systems support to R&D and cross-functional teams in the Food Science Jobs.
- Conduct technical assessments of supplier ingredient specifications with internal subject matter experts
- In the Food Science Jobs, you must collaborate with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Packaging, and Master Data teams
Skills Required for the Food Technologist Role:
- Strong knowledge of food technology principles and industry practices
- Experience in R&D, product development, specifications, and compliance
- Understanding of the Food Standards Code and strong knowledge of PIF
- Familiarity with Regulatory Affairs and food labelling (preferred)
- Strong organisational, planning, and prioritisation skills
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing timelines
- Proficiency in computer systems and database management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, independent, and collaborative working style
