Educational Requirements for this Job:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience OR a MLS degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP or AMT certification.
  • Prior Microbiology experience.
  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing in accordance with established criteria in this Microbiology Job at Labcorp Careers.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
  • Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls in this Microbiology Technologist Role.
  • Report test results accurately and in a timely manner to support quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required in this Microbiology Job in the USA.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

  • Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.
  • Strong technical decision-making and troubleshooting skills.
