Educational Requirements for this Job:
- Associate’s degree in Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- 3 months of clinical laboratory testing experience
- ASCP or AMT certification
- Previous experience or internships in a clinical microbiology lab
- Non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
- Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures in this Microbiology Job at LabCorp Careers
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
- Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls

- Identify and replenish testing bench supplies
- Assist with specimen processing when required
