Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological testing to support manufacturing operations in this Scientist Job at Thermo Fisher Careers.
- Conduct analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and stability samples.
- Use advanced analytical instruments for quality testing.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and laboratory protocols in this Scientist Job in the USA.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality initiatives.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving scientific or analytical challenges in this Scientist Job.
Work Schedule:
- Initial Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- After training (~6 months): Rotating shift schedule
- Four 10-hour workdays
- Alternating day shifts (8 weeks) and night shifts (2 weeks)
- Six-day break between shifts
- 10% shift differential during night shifts
Work Environment:
- Laboratory and office settings
- Adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Use of PPE such as safety glasses, a lab coat, gloves, and a gown
- Handling chemical, biological, and hazardous materials
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
Educational Requirements for this Job:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Biology, Biochemistry, or other related scientific disciplines
- No prior experience required
Skills Required:
- Knowledge of analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, Spectroscopy, Dissolution testing, Wet chemistry methods
- Understanding of regulated or pharmaceutical laboratory environments (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to work in cleanroom environments with required PPE.
