The Position
The intern will support the development and optimization of transfection methods to advance R&D recombinant protein production projects.
Project Overview
The primary objective of the role is to optimize transient and stable transfections of plasmids into mammalian cells for recombinant protein production. The project involves extensive cell culture work and the use of supporting assays to evaluate transfection efficiency.
The intern will gain experience working in biological laboratories within an industrial setting, focusing on improving transfection methods to enhance yield and reproducibility. Responsibilities include participation in experimental design and execution, data collection and analysis, preparation of summary tables and graphs, and contribution to drafting a technical report. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will present findings to other departments.
Requirements

- Must be a rising Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, or actively pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree.
- Area of study: Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical, or related fields.

Skills Required for Biochemistry Internship
- Prior experience in cell culture is required.
- Experience with human suspension cells for recombinant protein production is preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience in flow cytometry is an advantage.
- Experience with plate-based biochemical assays such as ELISA.
- Proficiency with imaging platforms.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
